After an initial gathering of Milk Glass on a blowpipe, a skilled glassworker gathers a layer of intense red glass that contains special ingredients such as selenium and cadmium. When the piece is blown to shape by another worker, the outside surface is a rich red-orange. During the carving process, exposing a wide range of red-orange and orange-yellow hues which adds to the stunning look of this vase.
